Routes and Prices

 

The Big Canberra Bike Ride returns to the shores of Lake Burley Griffin on February 18, 2018.  

You can see maps and details of all four rides below. 

Come along and join the fun, while helping us celebrate Canberra's bike-riding community. 

     
     

    5km Family Friendly Ride

    The Family Friendly Ride starts at Rond Terrace. You will head down a closed Parkes Way westbound, and turn around at the tunnel to return to a huge welcome back at the Big Canberra Bike Ride event hub on Rond Terrace. 

    A winner with the kids, this ride will include entertainment throughout. 

    The 5km ride is free, and all are welcome - but we still need you to register via the link below.

    20km Big Canberra Bike Ride 

    The 20km ride will start at the Event Hub on Rond Terrace, then head down Parkes Way on closed roads, and then around Lake Burley Griffin to a big welcome back at the Big Canberra Bike Ride event hub on Rond Terrace.

    68km Big Canberra Bike Ride 

    Starting at the Event Hub at Rond Terrace, the 68km ride will head down Parkes Way and then take the Urriara-Cotter loop out towards the Brindabella Ranges, before heading back in to the shores of Lake Burley Griffin and a big welcome back at the Event Hub!

    120km Big Canberra Bike Ride

    Starting at the Event Hub at Rond Terrace, the 120 km ride will head down Parkes Way, take a scenic route out to the Brindabellas and then back again,  through Commonwealth Park for a big finish back at Rond Terrace.

    Registration fees include:

    • A Big Canberra Bike Ride participation medal 
    • Refreshments at Aid Stations along all routes
    • Event Village access - family entertainment, activities, food vendors and stalls

    Your registration for the Big Canberra Bike Ride gives you access to discounted Pedal Power ACT membership.

    Buying a Pedal Power ACT membership will give you insurance coverage for your ride at the event, and all year. 

    You can also buy insurance coverage for just the day of the event. 

    Key Dates

    • Online registrations close midnight (AEST) Thursday 15 February.
    • No changes can be made to online registrations after midnight (AEST) Thursday 15 February.
    • Late registrations can be made in person at Rond Terrace on Saturday 17 February and Sunday 18 February.

    Rider packs and later registration:

    • Collect from Rond Terrace on Saturday 17 February 12pm-4pm.
    • Don't forget to bring your Australian Standards-approved bike helmet - you'll need to show this to collect your rider pack.
